Todd had a conference to go to in Portland so we spent a few days playing hooky with Posh and over the weekend the Barnes boys came down from WA. We did all the stuff the grandkids love…4-wheeler rides, roasting hotdogs & marshmallows over a campfire, fed the horses, shot bb guns, built “a damn” in the crick (and “flooded” the valley), etc etc! We were also able to make a day trip down the the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival in Woodburn. To top it off, we had gorgeous weather for it all!
At the tulip festival there was a youth camp booth where the kids got to shoot bow & arrows, make wood cookie name tags and pick out a t-shirt…all for free, score!
Like I said it was gorgeous weather…bright sunshine…but apparently there were rainy days before and our boys found the mud…too tempting when you’re already prepared with boots!
Photo opp! With 7 kids who were overjoyed to see each other and play these were the best that I got :) They took a little wooden shoe train ride around the fields.
There was certainly plenty to do there and we had a blast! Thanks for joining us Posh and Barnes Boys- it wouldn’t have been as fun without you!

So gorgeous tulips...and kids. :)
We went to the tulips fields a few years back and got such beautiful pictures. That looked really fun.
