Okay, so for a few summers now Lucy and Carson have been begging to get something from the ice cream truck that drives through the neighborhood. Todd and I always say no.
- For 1- it's a BIG FAT RIP OFF, and
- For 2-where we used to live the truck was driven by a guy in a turban and played 'what child is this?' as his kid music...hhhmmm...something was just a little off there!
Well, the kids have gotten some of their own money and are now a little older and realize that maybe they should have a say in what they spend it on...hhhmmm. The other day they heard the truck coming and ran in to tell me, I said no and they said, "we'll use our own money." GOTCH-YA Mom! So I gave in, we counted out $2 for each of them and went to wait...the truck never came...but now they were ready for it when it came again. Yesterday was that day! They ran in from outside saying..."hurry, hurry!" I asked what was going on and they told me they heard the ice cream truck. So out we went to wait. Here's some picture's of them waiting with their money ready in hand :)
Lucy waiting
It turned out to be pretty fun. The kids were so excited they were literally jumping up and down when they saw the truck. AND, it turns out here in Boise it's not such a BIG FAT RIP OFF and the music was nice happy kids music. To my surprise nothing was over 2 dollars (in OR nothing was under 2 dollars!). AND this money went to two cousins trying to pay their way through college...I am happy to support that!
Graham didn't pay with his own money but you can't refuse a popsicle for a cute chubby red head now can you? At least I can't.
...and he wanted to share with everyone, how sweet is that?! Nothing like swapping spit with your siblings on a popsicle.
Sharing with Lucy
Carson got a fun push-up pop that turned out to be pretty messy! But aren't the messiest the best? Carson loved it. And now...they are already making plans for what they will buy next time the ice cream truck comes by...oh dear, what have we started.

OMG...how ADORABLE WAS THAT MONTAGE!!! :-)
That made the ice cream guy's day too, for certain.
We feel the same way about the ice cream truck. Too expensive! But I'm glad you let them try it.
yummmmmmmmm! I remember running out to the ice-cream truck many years ago. All you needed was a quarter back then! (And it was up-hill both ways! ...in the snow!!)
