Birthday Bug Bash!

As it happens we are moving once again this year just before Lucy's b-day and on Carson's actual day. So, we celebrated their b-days together with some of their friends. We had a "bug bash" - a theme that would be fun for the boys and the girls! We played many games: "put the spot on the lady bug" (lick an Oreo and stick it to a poster sized lady bug while blind-folded), bug carry relay-race, butterfly cocoon game, a bug building craft, bug face/hand painting, and of course eating cupcakes with butterflies and worms on them :) We had a great time and will miss our friends here in Boise!Carson getting wrapped up in his "cocoon"

Carson and Lucy loved the bug carry relay. The object was to keep the bug on the flyswatter all the way across to your teammate...some of our bugs were a tad too slippery so it turned out pretty challenging, but they loved it!

Then this weekend we had a garage sale to get rid of some more things we could live without (and thankfully now will not have to haul to Pendleton). The kids had a "Snow-cone" stand and made 14 bucks! Carson got bored with it all and went inside after a few hours but Lucy loved it and was begging us at the end to just stay open a little longer, a little longer! All in all it was a fun time. And I had to get Graham in there too - he's waving :)

Happy Birthday you two!! Another year older. What a fun theme for a party and great game ideas. Good luck with the move. I know gramma and grampa will be happy to have you closer to them once again.
