We had so so so much fun this thanksgiving! My parents came from Oregon on Tuesday and my little brother Daniel and his wife Jessica came from Rexburg on Wednesday. We woke up early each morning and went full force all day with cooking, eating, black-friday shopping, an amazing lights display, a holiday parade, playing games, watching classic Christmas movies (A Christmas Story & Christmas Vacation), making wreaths, and of course lot's and lot's of visiting! We had a blast and were sad to say goodbye Sunday morning. Here's a few pictures of the weekend...
Lucy & Carson helped Grandma make the pies. They loved to help (although Carson didn't want to get his hands in there...he said, "I only like to do that with dirt or mud pies not real ones).

These are the napkin holders the kids made a few weeks ago to be our place holders on our thanksgiving table...too cute huh? Definitely saving these!
This is our trustee dishwasher named, Daniel. He graciously volunteered to do dishes after the big meal, what a sweet little brother :)
A new tradition we've adopted from the Oyama family in these last few years is after the big meal we play BINGO for "prizes". We each bring a few "prizes" - which are just nick-knack garage sale type things or dollar store buys or things you have lying around your house- we wrap them up and when you win you get to choose one. Lucy got a pedicure/manicure kit and LOVED it! She took turns with each of us, giving our feet the spa treatment- Posh even let her paint his toenails red- what a loving Posh he is!
This is our group at the parade. We found some fellow Beaver fans all the way over here in Bronco land, and we all sat back and watched the action. It was bright sunshine as you can see but a wee bit cold. After 2 parades here in the Boise area, we now realize how incredibly awesome our Oregon parades were...sorry Boise but you need some help in that dept. :)
We went to the Boise Botanical Gardens, where they have set up over 250,000 Christmas lights. It was so beautiful. We did end up having to deal with a constant drizzle, but hey, we're oregonians- we can take it! And it was pretty darn cool to see.
Posh & Grandma brought some greenery and all the fixin's for us to make wreaths. Nothing beats the smell of fresh cut noble and cedar...mmmmmm! Thank you Posh and Grandma!
I asked my folks to bring along a little fire wood so we could try out our fireplace and the kids could not get enough of it! They loved watching Posh chop the wood and helping him carry it in and then the fire was the coolest thing ever to them! We saved some wood to have a fire on Christmas morning, can't wait!

Oh MY...what a SUPER Thanksgiving! You all just had the all-American perfect traditions, plus the Oregon wood-burning & Noble Fir,the Bingo tradition...oh...and Daniel to do dishes!!! It just doesn't GIT any bettern' that, eh? Love, Aunt Kathrin
So, is Posh your Dad? Who ever the man is, I love that he let Lucy paint his toenails. That is the best!!!
Nice pics, but where's Graham? I know he's in the parade pic, under a hat and in the glare of the sun, but that doesn't satisfy our weekly quota of seeing the little guy.
Looked so fun. Did you just love having company in your home? We are having our Christmas parade tomorrow. Ours will be a bit warmer than yours I think!
Did you get a kick out of talking to Ella? She would have kept going too!
that was SO fun to read and see. What a wonderful weekend!! I love Mike getting a pedicure!! They are the CUTEST grandparents :)
Happy holidays you guys!!
Love,
Alisa & Family
