This year it was Carson’s turn to have a “friend” birthday and the theme he chose was “camping.” To put it lightly I went “a tad nuts” about the whole thing! I’m going to blame my “nuts-ness” on two things…#1-pinterest is a dangerous thing and #2- It’s been too long since I’ve thrown a party. That being said…here’s a a few pictures of the grand event :)
The kids and I made many signs and posters to go all over the yard to make the place a more official campground.
The food table…aaahhhh this was seriously too fun! (I added more logs to the table later)
The kids made tiny campfires on top of the dirt cupcakes. Below is the rest of the fun food.
One of our activities was to build marshmallow shooting guns and decorate them with cool duct tape. The kids did this inside the tent and then went out and shot targets and each other.
The birthday boy shooting the targets.
Lucy wanted to be in charge of a game and she chose a “fishing pond.” The kids all got to fish twice and got some prizes that kept them busy for quite a while.
One of our kids’ favorite things to do (I think like most kids) is to collect bugs, I decided this went along with the camping theme perfectly. So everyone got their own bug box and went out on the search for bugs.
We also ate goodies, blew out candles, roasted marshmallows on a real campfire and made wood cookie name-tags (thanks to Posh for cutting the cookies for us!). All the kids had a great time and truth be told…so did I…if I had the time and unlimited resources I’d be happy throwing parties all the time! Happy Birthday Carson- we love you to tiny bits!!
