A visit to the grandparents

Last week Todd had a conference to go to, with a few “no-school” days for Lucy, we tagged along for a visit to both sets of grandparents. First stop was Posh & Gramma’s farm. This, as you’ve seen in other posts, holds it’s very own kind of “farm fun” that the kids love complete with collecting chicken eggs each morning, walks in the forest, 4-wheeler rides, horse-back rides, throwing things in the creek and so on…any childs wonderland.

We also got to have a fire down at the fire-pit. We roasted marshmallows and ate too many s’mores.

Graham chose to lick the marshmallow off the keebler cookie, silly kid.

Next stop was Pa & Gramma’s. They took us out to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival. This place was a ton of fun! They had slides, swings, trains, hay play structures, face painting, tropical birds…oh, and TONS OF TULIPS!!

Cute little tulip babies :) The kids loved the rubber duckie races. Here’s some wooden shoes for anyone to try on. Lucy sure looks cute in them, maybe not quite her size though. How about using it as a car or boat? If the shoe fits…

 

And on to the flowers!These 3 were not cooperating as far as posed pictures goes, so this is the best one I got of them all together. The rest are quick stop candid shots. Carson racing down the rows of tulips. Macho Man amongst the yellow tulips. And then our fancy little Lucy.

After a fun time at the tulip fields we went back to the house for a fun Easter get together with all the local family. We had a great time visiting, playing and eating some yummy desserts. Thanks to all who fed us and entertained us, we had a fun little break!
