A few days before Thanksgiving winter snuck up behind us and gave us a beautiful white surprise, snow! School was 2 hours late Mon & Tues and then canceled on Wed. So we had plenty of time to play, if it weren’t for the crummy part…a high of 9 degrees…you heard me right- a HIGH of 9 degrees! SO COLD!!!
This is the first day, we got about an inch. Graham refused to put on any snow gear so the kids had to go out without me and build a snowman…this is what they came up with. Kinda sad huh? Next time I think I’ll force Graham to come out with us all.
This is the 9 degree day…we reached about 3.5 inches or so but with it being so cold they didn’t stay out very long.
Even the spider-web froze, it sure made it look beautiful, if you can say that about a spider-web.
On Friday we went over to the school and utilized their big hill. The snow had begun to melt so it doesn’t look like much, but with it being so cold it was slick! We had a blast. We forced Graham into his snow gear (kicking and screaming, no joke!). I just knew if he got out there he’d realize he loved it, and he did love sledding!
Carson going down on his own. We all got too hot after hiking up and down the hill quite a few times, so we took off our coats for a while.
I snapped this one just as Todd and Carson were trying to steer away from a jump. Don’t you love the facial expressions?!
Our snow is pretty much melted away now…but living in Pendleton we are assured winter has only just begun :)

Wish we had just a little of that white stuff!
You know what is funny, I lived there for years and we rarely got a "real" snow, only a dusting here and there, but lots of icy days. I hope it does give you some great snowman building opportunities, b/c those are the BEST for creating those childhood memories :)
Super cute! We got 6 inches of snow last night! So fun! Hope you're doing well!
Well it's in the 70's here! Don't think we'll get a white Christmas. The only thing here that resembles snow is the white sandy beaches. Enjoy it. You're making great memories with the kids.
