Update continued

Carson played another year of wiffle ball (he just barely missed the age cut-off for little league). With Todd coaching Lucy’s softball team (they overlap) this year it was with Coach Jodi, a friend of ours. His team was full of “veterans” and they went undefeated (at least as far as we could tell… we’re not supposed to keep score, shshsh). 

The wiffle ball games are played inside the Pendleton Round Up (our world famous rodeo) grounds. During the games Graham was not so fond of watching those veteran wiffle ballers smash their opponents, he found other ways to stay busy. Below he is practicing his pitching with dirt clods as balls, throwing them at the bull shoots. Check out that form, he’s a natural!!

Our June birthdays. Carson turned 7!

He requested my homemade lasagna for dinner, what a kid!

Below: I just had to post this shot! This is after he’s opened Great Grandma & Grandpa’s card to him and spotted the “birthday money!”  EXCITED!!!

Lucy turned 9! It was her turn for a friend party this year and the theme was “Artist Party.” I made a cake that stood 5 layers high, each layer a different color, with glazed frosting around the edges to look like dripping paint. We did 4 different art projects and for treats we “tasted the rainbow,” snacking on a variety of fruits in all the colors of the rainbow. It was a fun one!!

Our summer started off unusually cold & rainy (not unlike many of my childhood summers in the great NW), so we built an inside fort and watched movies to celebrate!

 

The kids & I picked 26 lbs of blueberries at a nearby farm. It was easy & fun and boy are they delicious berries!!! We are already almost halfway through our “loot!” We’ll have to pick more next year!     

Lucy & Carson went to Golf Camp and loved it! We bought them each their own set of clubs, they look so cute carrying them around (sorry no pict of that). They learned a lot and practiced, practiced, practiced! It was HOT that week too!Last week they got to golf 9 holes with Uncle Alan & Great Grandpa in Idaho! Starting ‘em young! Can you find them in the group below? Lucy’s in pink with a hat and ponytail, Carson’s sitting down in the blue shirt… exhausted! 

Last weekend we went to visit Great Grandma & Grandpa Oyama, Uncle Alan, and their dog, Mochi (our kids wished they could take her home with us!)

We went to the Boise zoo, which we love! Aren’t they the cutest kids ever!? (not a biased mom or anything)

We HAD to ride the carousel, it only costs $1, can’t pass that up! “Little Man” is about an inch too short to ride on his own so I went along.      Lucy & Carson happy as can be.
