This year we had our first Oyama family reunion at Eagle Crest Resort. We had 18 people, a great house, hot summer weather, and a fabulous time! Although I did not get pictures of everything we ended up cramming quite a lot into our 3 days. A few of the fun activities were golfing (of course!), swimming at the resort pool & splash pad, visiting Goody’s chocolate & ice cream factory, puzzle races, Hawaiian night, hot tubbing, celebrating Great Grandma & Grandpa’s 90th birthdays, tie dying shirts, card playing… the list goes on and on… we really should do this more often!
Let’s just say Todd & I are not what you would call a "technologized family.” We use track phones, do not own a “smart” anything, or an “i” anything either…yes, we know we are behind the times. However, we do own a GPS, which we aren’t always too thankful for…especially when it takes us on the “scenic route,” which in turn takes us sooooo much longer than we had planned. We came to the Oyama family reunion straight from the Barnes family reunion in Florence and were supposed to arrive around 3:30…we got there around 5:00. Oh well… we wanted to stop to use the bushes as restrooms and only go 25 mph the whole way anyway, right?! I’ll admit the “scenes” were beautiful and it was a gorgeous day!
As were winding our way through the mountains we decided to embrace the “scenic route” and stopped to take in the sites/scenes. Those are two of the three sisters in the background (I think) and some amazing volcanic rock…it really was a cool drive, just long :)
What cute kids we have, right?! Graham loved the drive because apparently it’s a well known motorcycle route with all its windy roads and he got to see something like 75 motorcycles! For this serious motorcycle fan that was an awesome “scene"!
After we got there our fun didn’t stop below are a few of the shots I got at some of the fun stuff :)
The grandkids at Goody’s. Our kids sure loved spending time w/ their cousins Shelby & Jacob, they didn’t leave their sides the whole time we were there! :)
This is the second place team: Great Grandma, Shelby, and Lucy.
And the winner is…Carson’s team! It was Grandma, Carson and I- we totally schooled the competition!!
Autumn, Todd, Auntie Laraina and Pa playing bean bag toss- who knew adults could have so much fun with such a simple game?!
Such a cute bunch of kids! Top": Lucy, Graham, Carson. Bottom: Shelby & Jacob.
Shelby & Lucy messing around with the lawn chairs at the resort pool, that does not look comfy!
Graham loved the splash pad!
Our kids were in heaven with all the “technology” everyone else brought along on the trip. We deprive them of such things to a great extent so all this fun stuff on the ipads, iphones, and whatever other “smart” gadget-thinga-ma-doodles certainly mesmerized them!
Thanks to all the Oyamas that made this reunion possible- we loved every minute of it and hope to do it again!

Enjoyed both of your reunion posts.
You had plenty of pictures, but were you aware that I loaded all of my pictures on your computer. In particular, pictures of your family with Graham hamming it up are great!
