We took a break from the rides and drove down to San Diego for a day at Sea World. The kids managed to find Sea World’s one and only “character” – so we had to stop to meet him and take a picture, of course.
The first thing on our schedule was to watch the feeding of the dolphins. Carson and Graham said they wanted to spend some of their money to get to feed them themselves. When we got in there, the boys were to afraid/nervous at first to feed them…they warmed up after Momma did it, but they never were “brave” enough to touch the dolphin…but I did!
One of the biggest amazements to Carson was the Shark Encounter, it was very dark in there so only a few pictures turned out. You get to walk through a tunnel that goes right through their tank so the sharks are all around you, can you see the shark?
I wouldn’t want to meet this shark that belonged to this gigantic mouth, holy cow!!
We were able to get pretty great seats at the Shamu show…close enough to see real well without getting wet!
Right when we got off the plane in CA, Lucy was amazed at the palm trees, so we had to snap a photo of her with some we found at Sea World.
After Sea World closed we went out to dinner. Not knowing San Diego at all, we happened upon “Phil’s BBQ.” This food ended up being easily THE BEST BBQ meat any of us have ever tasted! It was so messy that trying to eat cleanly was just not possible…YUM-O! If we ever get back to San Diego we will definitely be eating there again!
