Spring Break Trip

For spring break the kids and I headed to the green side of OR for some fun with Posh & Gramma as well as a visit with friends. One of the days Posh & Gramma took us all to visit the Gilbert house in Salem. I have heard about it before from friends, but never taken the time to go. WOW! I am sorry I didn’t take advantage of this sooner, it is SO STINKIN’ COOL!!! The kids had a blast, and so did I! Seriously this place is SO under-rated, we could have spent the entire day there and not gotten bored, if you’ve never been and live nearby, go for it! I’d buy a membership if I was closer, it was that fun!

And you can crawl through the rib cage of the skeleton- too cool!

The Gilbert House “big backyard” is enough to busy your kids for days. There’s many different themed sections. This is the giant erector set (A.C. Gilbert invented the erector set) play structure that is a maze inside and such fun. There is 2 giant slides that are 3 stories high, this ones a tube slide and it is pitch black inside. Me and the kids went down- to tell the truth it freaked me out! Once was enough for me, the kids went a few more times :) I know I’m a wimp.

In the Oregon farm room the kids got to milk a cow (so fun!). Graham chose to ride it too…and give it kisses :)

Inside the bubble room there’s a bunch of different cool things to do with bubbles. Again, we could have spent forever in there!

All three in the big rocker on the front porch. “Gilbert house- we loved you! And will be back to visit again someday, for sure!”

We LOVE Gilbert House. My teenagers still ask to go. They play huge games of tag in the climbing structure. Your photos make me realize how long it's been since we've been there. We'd better make a trip. Glad you guys had such a good time out this way!

I have never heard of that place. I really want to take the kids there whenever we're in Oregon again.
