Our Oregon Beach Trip 2009

This summer we headed back to Oregon for a weeks vacation with family at the beach. First stop was Lincoln City at a beach house with Todd's parents. We had so much fun being walking distance to the beach, discovering the fun filled backyeard at the house, miniature golfing, going to the OSU ocean center, visiting Depoe Bay, eating at Moe's etc. We all had such a great time, here are some pictures to show a few things.
This is our car ride to get there, turned out to be about 11 hours, and the kids did great. They stayed busy with activities, movies and got to open a prize every hour or so (they loved this!) Graham slept a lot, which was a huge blessing! In this photo you can see Graham in the mirror.

A hop, skip and a careful walk down a VERY steep hill to the beach...
Okay so it may look like crummy weather here in these pictures but it really was nice. It was overcast but warm enough that we didn't need our coats- except for Graham. Since his momma dresses him and he can't tell me if he's cold, I always worry and dress him with lot's of layers.
This is Graham's first time in the sand. He was not too sure about this stuff. He just kept squishing it in his fingers. I thought maybe he wouldn't be one to put it in his mouth...I was wrong. About 5 or so minutes into it, his hand went into his mouth- it's all part of being a baby on the beach I guess.

I took off his socks so he could feel it with his toes too, he really liked that idea:>

Carson loving the sand, cute little red head!

Lucy loves to play in the sand and loves to pose, the little cutie.

Carson's favorite thing this time, was finding rocks and throwing them into the water. He loved it even more if someone would join him in this. Here's Carson, Lucy and Todd throwing rocks in.
"Gimme five Buddy!" I just loved this picture.

On to miniature golf. Lucy and Carson both had very unique ways of holding the club and getting the ball in. We really didn't count thier strokes because it was just too many and half the time Carson would get to about 6 strokes and just pick up his ball and put it in the hole...I guess that's one way to get it in, fun times:>

This is Carson swinging away. But look in the background at how Lucy is trying to hit the ball...what'd I tell ya..."unique ways"

Depoe Bay...home of the only fresh saltwater taffy made right there while you watch.
We had a blast watching them make fresh saltwater taffy. We were there for about 30-45 minutes and just enthrawled by it all. I think the guy was starting to think we would never leave. He grabbed a handful of the fresh taffys and brought it out for us and asked us to hand it out to other people. Who knows, maybe if we would have stayed longer he could have given us aprons and hats and we could have started explaining the process to passers by. It was fun and we bought way more than we needed and ate way more than we needed too, but boy was it delicious!
This is the person we affectionately call ,"the taffy guy"

No trip to the beach is complete without a visit to Moe's restaurant. Thank you Pa & Gramma, we had a fabulous time, ate way too much great food, and were way too sleep deprived with all our late game nights :> Can't wait until next time!

Great pictures, but you forgot to include a picture of you on the beach. Not to worry, I've got one of you lying out in the sand, sunbathing or maybe you're just laying there waiting for a seagull to fly by. Ha! Ha! :) I'll email it to you tonight.
